Eaton's IS AER FMC Aerospace division is currently seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer. This position is responsible for providing quality engineering support to their high-performance work team including the development of inspection techniques to meet print requirements, driving root cause and corrective action related to internal and external quality performance and supporting internal and external quality related audits. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Engineering degree from accredited institution.
  • Minimum of (3) years of quality and / or mfg. engineering experience.
  • Candidate will not need sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Candidates must live within (50 miles) of the N Charleston, SC facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, industrial or mechanical engineering.
  • 5 year of quality mfg. engineering experience
  • Strong Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Background
  • Experience in aerospace products and applications
  • Experience with complex machined materials
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence is preferred
  • Six Sigma Black/Green Belt certification
  • Quality audit experience preferred
  • Knowledge Lean & Six Sigma tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical data sheets, and schematics,
  • Quality and Metrology knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Determine, develop, and monitor inspection and verification techniques to meet design requirements, including new product releases for prototype and production products.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Maintain accurate records to comply with company and customer record retention requirements.
  • Respond to customer corrective action requests including full root cause analysis, determination of permanent corrective actions and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Work with internal and external customers to interpret or reach agreement on quality procedures and acceptability of products.
  • Monitor and create action plans to meet key business metrics including Productivity, On-Time Delivery, First Pass Yield, and Cycle Time/Backlog.
  • Develop methods to eliminate quality problems and improve manufacturing process through collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain Management, and suppliers.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and the implementation of Lean activities to eliminate waste in key processes.
