About The Position

This role involves conducting audits of suppliers, monitoring their quality performance, and coordinating improvement activities. The engineer will also assist in training company and supplier personnel, develop training materials, and lead training on inspection and test methods. Additionally, the position requires participation in the design, measurement, audit, and improvement of supplier quality processes to meet customer expectations, documenting supplier quality procedures, conducting internal compliance audits, and supporting customer and third-party certification efforts.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor Degree is required; Engineering or Technical is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in Quality / Supplier Quality Engineering and/or Process / Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Manufacturing experience…Preferably in a Regulated environment…Aerospace, Medical Device, Automotive, etc.
  • Knowledge of industry, government and international quality system standards and their application to an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and related process controls.
  • Demonstrated history of effective problem solving in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in utilizing APQP tools including: Control Plans, FMEA's, PPAP.
  • Ability to effectively communicate advance quality concepts, plans and technical data internally and with external (customer or supplier) personnel at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and ongoing qualification audits of potential and existing suppliers, including special process and aerospace classified part audits; maintain approved supplier list.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance. Coordinate improvement activities for poor suppliers and certification efforts for exemplary suppliers.
  • Assist in training of company and supplier personnel in supplier quality processes.
  • Assist in development of appropriate training material.
  • Lead or coordinate training of supplier personnel in inspection and test methods and acceptance criteria.
  • Assist with design, measure, audit, and improvement of supplier quality processes that satisfy customer expectations.
  • Document and maintain supplier quality procedures.
  • Conduct audits to ensure internal compliance.
  • Participate in internal activities in support of major customer and third-party certification efforts.
