About The Position

Sigma Design has collaborated with a heavy industrial fabricator seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager to join their facility in Vancouver, WA. This company is an established heavy industrial fabrication provider serving infrastructure, energy, and marine sectors across the west coast.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 5 years or more of direct experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the heavy industrial steel fabrication industry.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with diverse groups of people to achieve goals.
  • Experience with CAD software and ERP/MRP systems
  • Basic knowledge of steel fabrication standards required (AISC, ASME, API, AWS, etc.) as well as related ASTM standards.
  • Capable of interpreting fabrication drawings and understanding basic fabrication terminology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing ASME-certified projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage project scheduling and budgeting.
  • Review contracts, proposals, and drawings to assess timelines, financial limits, staffing needs, and procedures.
  • Ensure optimal resource allocation through each phase to meet objectives.
  • Facilitate clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams, fostering alignment and swiftly resolving project issues.
  • Possess a builder’s mentality to facilitate production.
  • Positively represent the employer to clients and act as a liaison between the clients and employer departments.
  • Determine project schedule and communicate with shop and other departments.
  • Manage and communicate complex budgets, change orders, and adjustments to project scope.
  • Drive the processes needed for successful project completion in an organized and consistent manner.
  • Thoroughly review drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specs before production commences.
  • Create project work-back schedules, identifying milestones and timelines.
  • Coordinate purchasing of material to maintain established schedule.
  • Manage material tickets, nesting lists, and packing lists for submittal to shop.
  • Organize and oversee the delivery schedule and transportation logistics, ensuring timely and efficient movements.
  • Coordinate delivery schedule and transportation.
  • Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.
