About The Position

Austin Bridge & Road is seeking a Sr. Project Manager for their San Antonio, TX location. This role involves overseeing all aspects of construction projects, ensuring accountability of stakeholders, managing budgets, schedules, and quality standards, and fostering a safe and efficient work environment. The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for client relations, contract administration, and financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field
  • 7 years of experience supervising and coordinating construction projects
  • At least 2 years of experience in working within design build projects using technical building procedures to align with the fluid design process during construction
  • At least 2 years of experience in mass placement concrete adhering to TxDOT design standards and practices
  • At least 2 years of experience in cold weather concrete placement
  • At least 2 years of experience utilizing Bluebeam to prepare engineering takeoffs

Responsibilities

  • Hold Owners, subcontractors, and vendors accountable to the performance of their contract.
  • Hold progress, planning, and safety meetings with all project stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Work with the Estimating Department to solicit subcontractor bids and prepare the final cost estimate and proposal.
  • Assume overall responsibility for startup activities on the project, including site security, temporary power, utility connections, placement of office trailers, and locations for stored materials.
  • Perform a detailed review of subcontractor bids for buyout purposes and awards subcontracts.
  • Ensure that subcontractors have all the required bonds and insurance policies in place.
  • Resolve problems regarding interpretation and administration of contracts.
  • Prepare and submit monthly pay requests for Owners and architects, ensuring timely and accurate billings.
  • Identify and correct delays.
  • Submit and negotiate proposed changes, ensuring necessary Owner approvals are obtained in writing before construction work begins.
  • Notify the superintendent of accepted changes.
  • Analyze and be responsible for updates to cost information on Austin Bridge and Roads job cost reporting data.
  • Review Labor Cost Reports with the superintendent and ensure field supervisors are kept up to date on unit costs.
  • Work with the Scheduling Department to develop a master construction schedule.
  • Ensure that uniformly high standards of quality are established and maintained throughout the project.
  • Provide leadership to the project team to promote safety, quality, teamwork, respect, and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain the trust of the ownership and design team.
  • Forecast cost for self-performed work and to determine labor and equipment resources are in line with project needs.
