About The Position

The Sr Project Manager Facility Construction is responsible for directing all interior and exterior design and construction team activities associated with large, complex projects in order to meet identified project objectives. Projects could consist of capital renovation, maintenance, and/or repair of general building finishes. Knowledge and experience managing interdependencies between MEP and structural systems in research and healthcare settings. With minimal direction from the Manager, Construction Oversight, the Sr Project Manager Facility Construction is responsible for collaborating with key customer stakeholders across the organization ranging from front-line staff and support departments to executive leadership to identify program/project requirements and establish priorities for construction/maintenance related work. Competency with small-to-medium group facilitation and education in order to drive planning efforts and decision making. This position will interface with all levels of the enterprise and requires proficient interpersonal skills, keen judgment, and ability to influence. Leads the process of developing, executing, resolving issues, communicating, and driving the final results of design and construction elements within each project. Owns relationship with architects and contractors and acts as project lead and single point of escalation for these teams. Facilitate design and construction processes (develop and manage project schedule for all design and construction activities) and all associated deliverables (drawings from architects for review and approval). Owns overall budget process for the project including project forecasts, facilitation of Leadership review and approval, and management of the project budget including review and approval of all invoices for expenditures. Act as a liaison to ensure proper alignment of projects to institutional goals. Supplemental responsibilities include assistance implementing a culture of improvement across the institution, coaching staff in the coordination and management of project related activities, and acting as a liaison to ensure proper alignment of projects to institutional goals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, architecture or construction management or equivalent work experience.
At least nine (9) years experience in construction management related work.
Minimum seven (7) years experience in project management.
Healthcare (or comparable high complexity/sensitivity environment) background, preferably with experience leading construction projects in occupied spaces.
Experience working with sub contractors, vendors, consultants, and other purchased services.
Experience representing Department management in meetings with executive-level project or program stakeholders.
Proven record of project completion through use of methodologies, including project and time management, team development, and status reporting.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in health administration, business, or related field or Master’s certificate in project management.
Healthcare background.
Demonstrated successful experience leading complex change management in an organizational setting.
Supervisory/management experience.
Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or continuous performance improvement experience.
Experience facilitating/presenting project management content.
Coaching and/or consulting.
