The Senior Manager, Project Management plays a vital role within the Project Delivery organization, responsible for leading a portfolio of key projects that support business operations and compliance initiatives. This position involves leading the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget, while meeting quality and safety standards. The Senior Manager will lead all aspects of large-scale capital design and construction projects within either the Innovative Medicines or MedTech sectors, providing guidance and coordination across cross-functional teams. This includes defining project scope, developing schedules, securing resources, and managing stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Given the global scope of Johnson & Johnson’s facilities, including manufacturing sites, laboratories, and offices, the Senior Manager will demonstrate technical expertise and project management standard processes to identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans. The role requires a strong focus on operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and safety, supporting the organization’s strategic priorities and ensuring successful project outcomes. The MedTech Deliver scope includes leading and coordinating capital project delivery across distribution, logistics, warehouse, and supply chain network assets that support MedTech operations. This includes programs and projects tied to distribution footprint optimization, warehouse capacity, site master planning, automation, digital enablement, operational readiness, and business continuity across global and regional MedTech Deliver sites. The role partners closely with MedTech business leaders, Supply Chain, Quality, EHS, Facilities Management, Real Estate, Procurement, Finance, external partners, and site leadership to translate business needs into executable capital strategies. Responsibilities include supporting project intake and option development, defining scope and investment requirements, driving governance and stakeholder alignment, overseeing design and construction execution, and ensuring safe handover to operations. Key focus areas include delivering projects such as distribution center transformations, strategic warehouse expansions, network optimization initiatives, and complex programs that require strong schedule, cost, risk, supplier, and change management discipline. The scope also emphasizes proactive risk mitigation, transparent executive communication, regulatory and quality compliance, cybersecurity awareness where applicable, and disciplined execution through J&J project delivery processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management or Construction Management from an accredited institution is required.
  • 10 years or more of proven experience in Engineering, Project Management, or Manufacturing, with a focus on operational excellence and team leadership
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects or programs within a regulated manufacturing environment, including planning, execution, and compliance
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes in FDA-regulated environments, including design, startup, and operational phases.
  • Consistent track record to lead cross-functional teams, coordinate efforts across different departments, and ensure project delivery on time and within budget.
  • Experience with financial management related to project or operational budgets, resource planning, and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate project execution following IDEA and FPX, ensuring all results align with safety, cost, schedule, and quality benchmarks.
  • Follow and implement the project execution plan methodology to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate comprehensive project planning, tracking, and reporting against FPOs to ensure project and program success.
  • Manage customer interactions, contractor relationships, and communications to ensure stakeholder alignment and satisfaction.
  • Lead all aspects of project portfolios across diverse sites, whether at IM or MD locations, ensuring delivery in accordance with organizational benchmarks.
  • Supervise or support other project leads, stepping into the role of Senior Project Lead when required to ensure consistency and excellence in project delivery.
  • Drive the application of standard processes and continuous improvement in project management processes.
  • Demonstrate proactive leadership by managing project teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and fostering collaboration among regional partners.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project, ensuring seamless integration of technical, financial, and operational aspects.
  • This role demands a strategic yet hands-on leader with strong risk leadership skills, excellent partner communication, and a focus on delivering projects safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
