About The Position

As Sr. Project Manager I, you’ll lead and support enterprise Agile transformation initiatives across a complex government organization. This role will serve as both a strategic advisor and hands-on practitioner responsible for implementing, launching, scaling, and sustaining Agile Release Trains (ARTs) while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, innovation, and delivery excellence. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Agile, Lean, and SAFe practices and have demonstrated success coaching executives, leaders, Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and delivery teams. This individual will play a critical role in accelerating organizational agility, improving program execution, enabling cross-functional alignment, and supporting the successful delivery of strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will also leverage AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to enhance problem-solving, decision-making, team effectiveness, and delivery outcomes. Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in Agile delivery, project management, Agile coaching, Release Train Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting or leading Agile Release Trains, including facilitating PI Planning and SAFe events.
  • Experience coaching teams and leaders.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience working with executive stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Organizational Leadership, or related field.
  • Scaled Agile Certification such as SAFe Agilist (SA) or SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, mentoring, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Agile Coach and Release Train Engineer for one or more Agile Release Trains supporting enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Lead the launch, facilitation, and ongoing management of Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
  • Facilitate PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, ART Syncs, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt Workshops.
  • Coach executives, leaders, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Agile teams.
  • Manage risks, dependencies, and impediments.
  • Utilize Jira and Confluence for planning, reporting, collaboration, and transparency.
  • Deliver Agile and SAFe training and workshops.
  • Support program and project management activities as needed.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve decision making and delivery outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
