About The Position

This role serves as a legal operations lead responsible for safeguarding the organization against regulatory risk. This position bridges the gap between legal interpretation and operational execution and owns the full lifecycle of employment law and compliance implementation—monitoring state and federal legislative changes, training leaders at all levels on affirmative action compliance, managing the execution of legal mandates across the organization, and developing sustainable processes through internal audits.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of employment law, affirmative action, and compliance at the federal and state level
  • Experience using legal research databases (Bloomberg, Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar)
  • Intermediate Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent methodology experience
  • Strong understanding of the practical implementation of complex legal requirements
  • Advanced skills with Smartsheet, SharePoint, and Microsoft and Google Suite products
  • Ability to travel up to once per quarter to facilitate trainings and/or participate in team meetings
  • 5–7 years of experience in Legal Operations, Regulatory Compliance, or a Paralegal framework focusing on Employment Law and/or Affirmative Action
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Compliance or commensurate training and experience in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multi-state organizations preferred
  • Project Management Professional certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring federal and state legislative pipelines; working with attorneys to interpret legal requirements; and performing gap analyses between current state and new legal requirements.
  • Leading end-to-end implementation of legal projects; managing timelines, resources, and risk logs for organization-wide legal updates (e.g., pay transparency, leave law changes).
  • Serving as a representative for the Legal function on cross-functional projects as needed.
  • Developing and delivering technical training to HR, Finance, and Operations; ensuring stakeholders understand legal requirements and obligations.
  • Partnering with senior Legal leadership to conduct internal, privilege-protected audits; maintaining the corporate compliance calendar; and managing version control for legal-standard documents and postings.
