The Senior Project Manager – Automotive Technical Services has full technical responsibility for the organization, implementation, execution and coordination of the support and program management of operational programs within the Bus area of Vehicle Engineering and Maintenance. This position’s primary responsibility is managing all technical aspects of operational functions for monitoring automotive fleet data and triaging to minimize disruption. Activities include the management, development and application of automotive mechanical desk operations and maintenance statistical analysis. The Senior Project Manager must have extensive knowledge of business practices applicable to managing vehicle programs. This position is responsible for undertaking diverse project management assignments that are considered to be of “high” complexity in size and scope. As Senior Project Manager, the successful candidate will be involved in design, manufacture, and support of vehicles and vehicle systems, this position is responsible for defining and coordinating in-house and third-party tasks of “high” complexity. The Senior Project Manager must come in contact with many people at higher organizational levels, both within SEPTA and outside the Authority. His/Her contacts include Assistant General Managers and Department Managers within SEPTA, as well as consulting and contact firms’ Vice Presidents, and Federal, State, City, and local government officials.
