About The Position

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a Sr. Project Management Specialist for their Clinical Laboratories. This role is responsible for coordinating assigned projects, including collaborating on project plans, budgets, and resource requirements. The specialist will identify and utilize appropriate project management tools and concepts, develop and execute work plans, set task priorities, track progress, and prepare internal reports. They will also prepare documents to support project management and reporting, and manage communication to internal and external clients. The role involves identifying people, process, and infrastructure needs and acting as a liaison to ensure appropriate systems and reporting are maintained. The specialist will create work products and project deliverables, both independently and under direction, and must understand and meet expectations for deliverable quality and timeliness. Additionally, the role requires engaging clients and stakeholders, negotiating project scope, and communicating with clients throughout the project. The specialist will identify necessary resources, problem-solve gaps, lead project teams, and direct the work of others, assuming final responsibility for project outcomes. Data analysis, including primary and secondary data collection, summarizing findings, drawing conclusions, and communicating results, is also a key responsibility. This includes coordinating data collection, conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, and supporting regulatory/reporting activities. Effective communication and relationship management with key project stakeholders, composing and delivering written and verbal communications, and facilitating discussions are essential. The role also involves strategic planning with project, program, and department leadership to advance objectives, establishing goals, prioritizing key objectives, and strategizing necessary infrastructure. This position may have direct reports and will manage medium volume and/or complexity of projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 4+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate assigned projects including collaborating on project plans, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Identify and use appropriate project management tools and concepts (charters, scope management, budget management, risk/ issue management, communications management).
  • Develops and execute work plans.
  • Set priorities for tasks based on importance and urgency.
  • Track progress and prepare internal reports.
  • Prepare documents to support project management and reporting.
  • Prepare and distribute project communication to internal and external clients.
  • Identify people, process and infrastructure needs and act as liaison to ensure appropriate systems and reporting are maintained in support of project requirements.
  • Create work products and project deliverables, both independently and under direction of team members.
  • Understand and meet expectations for deliverable quality and timeliness.
  • Engage clients and stakeholders, negotiate project scope as needed, and communicate with client throughout the project.
  • Identify resources needed, such as information, expertise, personnel, and instruments and problem-solve gaps.

  • Support and execute regulatory/ reporting activities related to projects (e.g., IRB, updates/ reports to funding agencies, etc.)
  • Manage communication to and relationships with key project stakeholders.
  • Compose, edit, and deliver written and verbal communications.
  • Facilitate small group discussions.
  • Keep team members appropriately informed.
  • Strategize with project, program and department leadership to develop plans to advance objectives.
  • Work in collaboration to establish goals and objectives, prioritize key objectives and work with the team to meet the goals and objectives.
  • Strategize and recommend infrastructure necessary to execute selected projects & processes.
