About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead complex engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery. In this role, you will act as a mentor to junior engineers, provide strategic direction, and interface with high-level stakeholders to drive project success. This position requires extensive technical expertise, advanced project management skills, and significant industry experience. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, serving as a prime integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training, and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements, consistently exceeding expectations with an unrivaled record of on-time and on-budget deliveries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 12+ years experience in engineering roles with at least 4+ years in a leadership role.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practice.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development team.
  • Comprehensive understanding of requirements management, system design, and integration.
  • Current/Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • 6-8 years relevant leadership and/or project management experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers.
  • Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management.
  • Past history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternative.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedure.
  • Experience or certification in International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) standard.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Provide advanced technical guidance and problem-solving support to project teams.
  • Interface with senior leadership and external stakeholders to communicate project status and address concerns.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and resolve project issues effectively.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and lead initiatives to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
