About The Position

Carmel Partners is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer - Multi-Family with experience in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field. The Senior Project Engineer, Multifamily Construction, is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in reviewing development or redevelopment activities and performing day-to-day construction assignments. This role requires the ability to interact effectively with senior executives, manage multiple projects under time and other constraints while maintaining a cool head, and possess strong analytical and decision-making skills with a commitment to operational excellence.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field.
4+ years’ experience in Commercial or Residential Construction preferred.
3+ years’ experience in Residential Construction Project Management
Extensive computer knowledge: Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Proficiency with Microsoft Office as well as Construction and Project management software, Procore and Bluebeam.
Must be able to pass a drug screen after a conditional offer of employment is made.
Prior Multifamily project experience.
OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour training within the last 5 years.
First Aid and CPR training within the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

Assist the Project Manager with the planning and execution of the construction project(s).
Support the project schedule as assigned by the Project Manager.
Manage the procurement and submittal logs.
Review submittmits and shop drawings for conformance with the Contract Documents and manage approvals with the design team.
Coordinate shop drawings, material interface, access, and routing with the Subcontractors and Design Team.
Manage preparation of mock-ups for Owner approval.
Support project quality control by inspecting work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance with the Contract Documents and Design Intent.
Assist Superintendent with site logistics planning.
Assist the Project Manager with developing scopes of work, bid package development, bid analysis, and quantity take-offs to support project buyout.
Manage drawing and document issuance, including design updates as well as Requests for Information.
Assist the Project Manager with Change Management.
Manage project closeout and preparation of closeout documents.
Manage consultant, city, and internal punch list correction.
Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws (e.g., OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing, etc.).
