About The Position

This role involves understanding business requirements and translating them into system requirements, producing technical specifications, and coding reliable programs across multiple platforms. The Sr Programmer Analyst III will identify and fix coding errors, define project scope and objectives, and design system solutions. This position also involves leading and guiding junior team members, performing unit and system testing, reviewing test results, and submitting documentation for production deployment. Responsibilities include recording time and status for billing, responding to production issues with on-call rotation, providing analytical support for system maintenance, and adhering to corporate project management standards. Effective communication with technical and non-technical teams is essential, as is preparing detailed definitions of proposed solutions, developing time and cost estimates, documenting implementation plans, and designing user documentation and training. The role requires fluent communication with business representatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or closely related field
  • 6 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Utilize advanced SQL for data extraction, transformation, performance tuning, joins, indexing, and query optimization across relational database systems.
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, validate, and load data from heterogeneous sources using ETL tools, cloud-native services, and scripting frameworks.
  • Develop Python-based workflows and automation scripts for data ingestion, data transformation, orchestration, error handling, and integration with cloud and database systems.
  • Implement data solutions on cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, leveraging services including cloud storage, compute, orchestration, serverless components, and managed data services.
  • Apply dimensional modeling principles, including star schema and snowflake schema design, to build fact and dimension models supporting business intelligence and analytical reporting.
  • Deliver end-to-end data solutions encompassing requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, performance tuning, and production support.

Responsibilities

  • Understands business requirements and can relate these to the supporting system requirements, producing technical specifications for the work to be done.
  • Codes readable, reliable, and maintainable programs in any of a variety of languages on multiple platforms necessary to support the team’s assigned systems.
  • Identify and rectify errors in coding quickly, showing initiative and a proactive approach.
  • Prepare the initial problem definition, define the project scope and objectives, determine the specific requirements to be satisfied, and design system solutions for all levels of service requests.
  • Lead and/or provide guidance to junior team members.
  • Perform unit and system testing using test plans and scripts approved by the business.
  • Review test results with the business and makes the necessary adjustments to the deliverable.
  • Obtain an approval and submit proper documentation for migration to the locked-up production environment.
  • Record the time and status to the appropriate projects or support activity for billing.
  • Respond promptly to production issues by serving an on-call rotation for the 24-hour support of the team’s systems, making decisions that will positively influence the up-time and full recovery of the team’s systems from outages.
  • Provide analytical support for the ongoing maintenance of developed systems.
  • Understand and follow current corporate project management standards.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams; understand audience and adapts accordingly.
  • Prepare detailed definitions of proposed solutions which includes data base design, screen and report definitions, data flow, detailed transaction processing requirements, definition of system interfaces, detailed program specifications, and designing system test cases.
  • Develop estimates of time and cost for the development and on-going operation of proposed service requests and prepares analysis to show economic payout for the system.
  • Document conversion approach, task sequences, and dependencies for implementation plans.
  • Design and develop manual procedures and user documentation and provide user training in the use of the developed system.
  • Communicate fluently with the business representatives.
