This position reports to: Production Manager The work model for the role is: Onsite, Mebane, NC Your role and responsibilities: In this role, you will oversee daily production activities and ensure adherence to schedules, meeting delivery and quality standards. Manage production teams and coordinate shift operations, supervising 25-100 production personnel. Monitor production metrics and KPIs in real-time; establish performance programs and dashboards. Ensure production schedules, procedures, and technical drawings are followed accurately, and manage equipment capacity planning and prevent production bottlenecks through resource optimization. You will be mainly accountable for: Ensuring that production scheduling and production plan meet the volume requirements agreed upon in the demand plan and defined inventory service levels. Recommending technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary. Identifying deficiencies in production area, proposing improvement activities, and overseeing implementation of actions to improve production performance. Managing the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in manufacturing, engineering, operations management, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years experience in operations, manufacturing, or production
  • Minimum 5 years in supervisory or leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production systems for switchgear products
  • Proficiency in quality management systems (ISO 9001) and understanding of quality assurance protocols
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations, OSHA compliance, and HSE standards
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate large teams (25-100+ personnel)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
