About The Position

This role develops and maintains detailed production plans and schedules that meet customer demand while minimizing inventory, maximizing capacity utilization, and improving operational efficiency. The planner will convert demand signals into executable production sequences and coordinate closely with operations, materials, and other supply chain process partners to ensure the right part, at the right time, in the right quantity. This role also drives continuous improvement of planning and scheduling processes to enhance throughput, accuracy, and responsiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of production planning experience in a manufacturing setting.

  • Material Requirements Planning (MRP): MRP / SAP / ERP Experience.
  • Planning policies & governance: PFEP, Planner Exceptions, Level Loading, etc.
  • Data analysis & reporting: Excel, SAP, ERP, MS Tools; Metric tracking / improvement (OTD, past due, stock-in rate).
  • Lean manufacturing & continuous improvement: Problem solving, RCCA, CI initiatives.
  • Project coordination & leadership: Lead initiatives, facilitate cross-functional meetings, drive major tasks / projects.

Responsibilities

  • Use Epicor ERP and SAP to release production orders, address MRP exceptions, and review/maintain master data to ensure system accuracy.
  • Convert planned orders into production orders to satisfy demand generated by MRP.
  • Align the production schedule with available capacity and update plans as needed.
  • Replan shortages and resolve material availability issues through proactive collaboration with purchasing and operations.
  • Lead weekly schedule attainment meetings, scheduling/planning touchpoints, and Gemba board reviews.
  • Analyze demand and inventory, including prioritized DPAS-rated orders and A-level expedites.
  • Drive corrective actions to close gaps on past due parts.
  • Develop and maintain tools to improve setup efficiency, product flow, and information sharing.
  • Lead problem-solving activities to sustain on-time delivery, minimize past-dues, and maximize stock-in rate.
  • Develop planning standards and work instructions as needed.
  • Lead rapid improvement workshops, blitzes, and kaizen events to improve efficiency and meet KPIs.
  • Implement optimal production strategies (Make to Order, Make to Stock, Assemble to Order, etc.).
  • Lead the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) process by maintaining accurate planning parameters and lead times, driving data integrity, and implementing process enhancements to optimize production performance and minimize inventory.
  • Lead major site projects and initiatives to advance supply chain processes and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Run and assess inventory models to support decision-making.
  • Provide advanced planning analysis and actionable insights.
  • Exercise strategic decision-making to assess and improve production planning processes.
