Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Managed Detection & Response

LevelBlue LLC
$135,000 - $185,000Hybrid

About The Position

LevelBlue reduces risk and builds lasting resilience so organizations can innovate and advance their mission with confidence. As the world’s most analyst-recognized and largest pure-play managed security services provider, LevelBlue elevates client outcomes that matter: stronger defense, faster response, and sustained business continuity. LevelBlue combines AI-powered security operations, advanced threat intelligence, and elite human expertise to provide the most comprehensive portfolio of strategic advisory, managed security, offensive security, and incident response services. This role sits at the center of LevelBlue's MDR and Managed Extended Detection and Response (MXDR) business, including our co-managed SOC offering and the Indigo™ Security Platform. You'll be the market-facing expert on how LevelBlue's threat detection and response capabilities stack up against a fast-moving MDR market. As Senior Product Marketing Manager for MDR, you'll own positioning, messaging, and go-to-market execution for our core managed detection and response business, translating a technical, fast-evolving product (SOC operations, threat intelligence, MXDR) into a story that resonates with CISOs, SOC leaders, and IT security buyers. You'll work cross-functionally with product management, demand generation, sales, and executive stakeholders, and you'll represent MDR externally with press, analysts, and customers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience, with hands-on experience marketing MDR, XDR, SOC, threat detection, or closely related managed security services.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear, differentiated messaging for security buyers.
  • Track record of building and executing integrated marketing campaigns in partnership with demand gen and sales teams.
  • Experience developing competitive battlecards and running win/loss programs.
  • Excellent writing skills, with a portfolio of thought leadership content (bylines, blogs, whitepapers).
  • Comfortable writing scripts for video and other multimedia formats.
  • Experience briefing industry analysts (Gartner, Forrester, IDC, or similar).
  • Experience supporting field marketing and event activations (trade shows, sales kickoffs, executive roundtables) with messaging, content, and speaker support.
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator who can work effectively with product management, sales, and executives.
  • AI fluency: daily, hands-on use of generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to speed up research, drafting, competitive analysis, and content production, treating AI as a way to extend your own bandwidth rather than a novelty.
  • Good judgment about where AI accelerates the work and where it doesn't, pairing AI-assisted drafts with the human review, brand voice, and accuracy checks a security company's content requires.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience marketing an MDR, MXDR, or SOC-as-a-service offering at an MSSP, MDR pure-play, or platform security vendor.
  • Familiarity with SIEM, EDR/XDR, or threat intelligence platforms.
  • Experience supporting M&A integration marketing (e.g., product/portfolio consolidation messaging).
  • Security industry certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP) are not required but are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Positioning: develop and continuously refine core value propositions and messaging for MDR/MXDR across buyer personas (CISO, SOC manager, IT/security director).
  • Competitive intelligence: maintain battlecards and win/loss analysis tracking MDR competitors; brief sales on how to win competitive deals.
  • Sales enablement: build and deliver pitch decks, collateral assets, FAQs, and training that arm sales and sales engineering with a clear, differentiated narrative.
  • Campaign strategy: partner with demand gen and campaigns teams to plan and launch integrated MDR campaigns across web, email, paid, events, and partner channels.
  • Launch management: lead go-to-market plans for new MDR/MXDR capabilities and packaging, coordinating cross-functional launch timelines.
  • Event support: partner with field and events marketing to shape MDR messaging, speaker content, and booth/demo narratives for industry conferences (e.g., Black Hat, RSA), regional field events, and executive roundtables.
  • Sales kickoffs & activations: develop MDR content and talk tracks for sales kickoffs, partner events, and customer/prospect field activations.
  • Thought leadership: author bylines, POVs, and executive talking points on MDR trends (agentic AI in the SOC, threat detection at scale, MTTR benchmarks) for press, speaking opportunities, and LevelBlue's own channels.
  • Video & script writing: write scripts for product explainer videos, customer testimonials, webinars, and executive interviews.
  • Customer marketing: develop case studies, reference programs, and testimonials that showcase MDR outcomes (time-to-detect, MTTR, SOC augmentation).
  • Analyst relations: brief and manage relationships with Gartner, Forrester, IDC, and other analysts to support inclusion and positioning in MDR/MXDR market reports.

  • Generous paid time off and holidays.
  • Flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts.
  • Employee assistance programs.
  • Training and development opportunities.
