Sr Product Manager (Agentic User Interface)

Evolent
•$120,000 - $135,000

About The Position

Evolent is building a new AI platform, and the Sr Product Manager for the agentic user interface will design how clinicians, nurses, and operations teams interact and collaborate with AI agents. The role owns the user experience, including what agents surface, when they request human decisions, how they explain their output, and how reviewers remain in control. The platform architecture is still taking shape, with initial capabilities moving into production and dedicated product, engineering, applied AI, and data science teams supporting the work. The role has visibility to the executive team and focuses on defining how AI can become a teammate in healthcare delivery. The position leads the product lifecycle and defines the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the interface and GenAI-enabled capabilities. It involves research with clinicians, operations teams, and clients; translating needs into product specifications; partnering with cross-functional teams; prioritizing development; planning go-to-market and adoption; and measuring product performance. The product manager also leads proof-of-concepts and pilots, sets requirements for AI quality and human oversight, guides prioritization, and mentors junior product managers and team members. Evolent describes a culture emphasizing work/life balance, flexibility, autonomy, diversity, and inclusion. The expected base salary range is $120,000–$135,000. Qualifying employees are offered comprehensive benefits, including health insurance. Candidates must complete identity verification, a comprehensive background check, in-person I-9 verification, and may be subject to drug screening. Final interviews may require onsite attendance. Use of AI tools during interviews is prohibited and monitored. Employees must have high-speed home internet over 10 Mbps; the direct-router requirement applies specifically to call center employees.

  • Proven track record of launching and managing complex software products.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute product strategy, roadmaps, and go-to-market plans.
  • Strong grounding in UX principles and design thinking, with experience partnering with designers and researchers to ship interfaces people adopt and trust.
  • Hands-on product experience with generative AI systems in production, such as LLM-based workflows, retrieval and document-processing pipelines, evaluation and monitoring, and human-in-the-loop review patterns.
  • Working knowledge of modern AI technologies and trade-offs, including model selection, prompting and orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, fine-tuning versus prompting, and agentic patterns.
  • Ability to partner with architects and engineers on technical trade-offs, including build-versus-buy-versus-partner decisions, canonical data models, and API and event contracts.
  • Experience delivering software in regulated environments involving sensitive or protected data (PHI/PII), including audit, traceability, and access-control requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban and product management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Aha!.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Healthcare Administration, or Engineering.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare, including payer, provider, and value-based care models; experience in prior authorization, utilization management, appeals, or payer and provider clinical operations is a plus.
  • Direct experience leading GenAI or machine-learning product initiatives from concept through launch and scaling AI-enabled products for enterprises.
  • Experience shipping conversational, copilot, or agent-driven interfaces, including explainability, confidence and citation display, human escalation, and reviewer override patterns.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR, X12 278, and HL7, and CMS Interoperability and Prior Authorization rules.
  • Depth in Microsoft Azure services such as AKS, Service Bus, Azure SQL and Cosmos DB, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Document Intelligence, and AI Search; comparable AWS or Google Cloud experience is considered.
  • Experience with agent architectures and orchestration frameworks, embedding and retrieval pipelines, and model routing through a centralized AI gateway.
  • Knowledge of MLOps and LLMOps practices, including evaluation datasets and scoring, shadow-mode validation, drift and quality monitoring, and observability tools such as OpenTelemetry.
  • Exposure to identity, access, and lifecycle governance for AI systems and agents, and HITRUST or SOC 2 certification programs.
  • Experience with product analytics and experimentation tools, including A/B testing and usability research methods.
  • Experience collaborating with data scientists on experimentation, model tuning, and deployment strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product lifecycle for the agentic user interface, from strategic planning and discovery through development, launch, and post-launch analysis.
  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for user interactions with AI agents, aligned with the AI platform roadmap, company goals, and market trends.
