Sr. Product Manager, Gated Communities

ButterflyMX•,
•$180,000 - $195,000•Remote

About The Position

ButterflyMX is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the Gated Communities product roadmap and define the future of its access and security platform for gated properties. The role works directly with sales, channel partners, homebuilders, and developers to understand the market and develop product capabilities, while partnering with other product teams on platform features used by the segment. This is an AI-forward role: the product manager will use AI to prototype ideas and inform product decisions, collaborating closely with engineering to deliver them. The position reports to the Director of Product Management for Access and Security. ButterflyMX provides a platform for property access, operations, and security. Its products serve multifamily, commercial, gated-community, and student-housing properties. The platform enables property managers to manage access and entry logs online and residents to open doors and issue visitor access from smartphones.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product management experience, with a track record of owning products from concept to market and delivering measurable business impact.
  • Strong product taste and hands-on design fluency, including the ability to assess and defend design quality and turn rough ideas into testable prototypes across digital screens and physical experiences such as guard check-in and on-site hardware.
  • An ownership mindset, comfort with ambiguity, curiosity, and energy for defining a path forward where none exists.
  • Strong organization and follow-through, with the ability to deliver projects and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, including clear writing and presentations and the ability to influence engineering, design, go-to-market teams, and leadership without formal authority.
  • A builder’s mindset, including using AI and modern tools to explore ideas and closing the loop between engineering requirements and how the product works.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in proptech, multifamily real estate, or property operations.
  • Experience with B2B2C products where the buyer and daily user are different people.
  • Experience working with hardware and software systems together.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for Gated Communities, defining a gated-native platform and investing in capabilities to realize that vision.
  • Partner with and influence other ButterflyMX product teams to prioritize gated-community needs on their roadmaps.
  • Build relationships with homebuilders and developers to gather firsthand insight into how they evaluate, adopt, and scale with a platform.
  • Embed AI in the product where it creates genuine value for user experiences and operations.
  • Define and track metrics for the segment’s health and growth, and use them to guide prioritization.
  • Collaborate with customer experience and implementation teams to improve onboarding, training, and day-one readiness for gated properties.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision plans, with ButterflyMX covering 80% of the cost, starting on day one.
  • 401(k) plan with a match.
  • 10 paid holidays, 20 vacation days, 5 sick days, and 3 floating holidays.
  • Basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, with ButterflyMX covering 100% of the cost.
  • Short- and long-term disability insurance, with ButterflyMX covering 100% of the cost.
  • Paid family leave.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Quarterly self-care stipends.
  • Optional pre-tax flexible healthcare spending accounts (FSA and HSA), Dependent Care FSA, and commuter benefits.
  • Optional supplemental life, AD&D, hospital indemnity, legal, accident, critical illness, pet, and personal liability insurance.
  • Potential eligibility for bonuses, equity, or other forms of compensation, where applicable.
