About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the evolution of our pharmacy ecosystem across veterinary care, ecommerce, and omnichannel retail experiences. This role sits at the intersection of healthcare, digital commerce, and platform integrations, and is responsible for building a seamless connection between veterinary prescribing, customer-facing experiences, and pharmacy fulfillment to deliver a seamless, omnichannel prescription journey. You will own the roadmap for prescription and therapeutic diet fulfillment, enabling pet parents to easily access medications prescribed both within our veterinary network and by external providers. You will partner closely with teams responsible for the veterinary practice management system, ecommerce platforms, and pharmacy operations to deliver a connected, end-to-end prescription experience. This role supports our full veterinary ecosystem, including Vetco Total Care Hospitals and Vetco Vaccination Clinics, while also enabling a best-in-class experience for customers filling third-party prescriptions through our online pharmacy. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with significant cross-functional leadership, influencing initiatives across product, engineering, veterinary operations, marketing, and external partners. While this role does not include direct people management, there is strong potential for future growth as the space continues to scale. This is a hybrid position based in San Diego, with in-office expectations Tuesday through Thursday. Requirements

  • 4+ years of product management experience
  • Experience building or supporting platform integrations, APIs, or partner ecosystems
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to turn complex workflows into simple, scalable product experiences

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the end-to-end product strategy for prescription and therapeutic diet fulfillment across digital channels (web, mobile, and in-store systems).
  • Build and execute a multi-year roadmap aligned with enterprise priorities, including veterinary growth and omnichannel expansion.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate pharmacy services into broader customer experiences such as subscriptions, repeat delivery, and care plans.
  • Deliver seamless prescription experiences across ecommerce, retail stores, and veterinary care settings, including prescription ordering, refills, approvals, in-store pickup, and clinical workflows.
  • Partner with store operations and veterinary teams to unify digital and physical touchpoints.
  • Partner with teams supporting the veterinary practice management system to ensure prescriptions written in clinical settings translate seamlessly into online ordering and fulfillment experiences, while maintaining compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Deliver solutions that support prescriptions generated within our veterinary ecosystem as well as those written by external veterinarians.
  • Improve how customers submit, validate, and fulfill prescriptions through our platform.
  • Lead cross-functional squads across engineering, design, data, and compliance to deliver scalable, secure solutions.
  • Own backlog prioritization, sprint planning, and delivery outcomes, balancing speed with the rigor required in a healthcare-adjacent environment.
  • Identify and eliminate friction across the prescription journey - from prescription creation to order completion.
  • Partner with marketing and lifecycle teams to improve conversion, medication adherence, repeat purchases, and long-term customer engagement.
  • Partner with store and operations teams to support capabilities such as recurring delivery, repeat orders, and in-store pickup for prescriptions and therapeutic diets.
  • Work closely with external pharmacy partners to improve integration performance, reliability, and customer experience.
  • Translate operational needs into scalable product solutions and ensure smooth coordination across fulfillment models.
  • Ensure all prescription experiences meet federal and state pharmacy regulations and applicable data privacy standards.
  • Partner closely with legal and compliance teams to proactively manage risk.
  • Define and track key metrics including conversion, refill rates, fulfillment performance, repurchase, and customer satisfaction.
  • Use data to drive continuous optimization and personalization of the prescription experience.
  • Act as the primary product lead for prescription services across cross-functional stakeholders, including strategy, digital, retail, pharmacy operations, and veterinary leadership.
  • Translate complex business needs into clear product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to expand the prescription ecosystem, including digital veterinary integrations, subscription models, and emerging technologies that improve adherence and customer experience.
