About The Position

You will become a member of the da Vinci® Multiport Global Product Management team helping to lead development and support multiple generations of system platform solutions across their lifecycle. This is an individual contributor role and will report to a Group Product Manager. As an upstream strategic and product management expert, you will work with cross-functional partners to guide successful product launches and provide strategic expertise throughout the product development and global launch phases. You will become a key development and design stage stakeholder for multiple projects and will be a global system portfolio expert helping to guide future portfolio strategy recommendations and budgeting.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelors degree
  • Minimum 4 years in a medical device role with 8 or more years cumulative professional experience
  • Travel requirements 25%, global travel required
  • Portions of travel are required to be in a hospital operating room during live surgery.
  • Must be able to attain hospital credentialing to access facilities

Responsibilities

  • Build a VOC engine spanning surgeons, OR staff, and admins; synthesizing into problem statements and user journeys.
  • Define and maintain user needs, scenarios, and priority jobs-to-be-done for console and tower.
  • Convert user needs into product requirements (functional, performance, safety, usability, service, and integration requirements) with rationale and acceptance criteria for console and tower.
  • Build trusted partnerships with engineering, clinical, human factors, industrial design, and regulatory teams—becoming the recognized authority on console and tower system direction.
  • Drive human factors studies and incorporate findings into design iterations.
  • Develop deep understanding of surgical workflows, surgeon ergonomics, and OR environment constraints through direct observation and physician engagement.
  • Make disciplined trade-off decisions between features, timeline, cost, and regulatory complexity.
  • Develop final product definition considering customer needs, technical acumen, and business decisions (which may include I&A and other business units).
  • Ensure component subsystems requirements enable seamless integration with the system and broader platform architecture.
  • Establish clear prioritization frameworks and development milestones that balance innovation ambition with regulatory and manufacturing realities.
