About The Position

The Senior Product Manager – Control Software is a key member of the Digital Platform product line team within GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind business. This role owns multi-generational strategy and product management for turbine controls hardware and firmware, spanning both the new product development roadmap and supporting the existing installed fleet. The ideal candidate bridges deep technical understanding with strong commercial acumen to drive competitive, reliable, and innovative embedded controls solutions. Responsible for activities and processes that help the sales organization achieve business objectives Owns/influences commercial business operating guidelines and has ownership/influence over budgets. Guided by functional policy. There is autonomy within the role to enter into/execute Commercial arrangements. High levels of Commercial judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

Requirements

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in the Sales & Digital Sales Operations.
  • Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • For roles in USA - Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with embedded systems, real-time controls, or hardware/firmware product development.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.
  • Familiarity with wind turbine operation, turbine control systems, or power electronics.
  • Prior experience in a formal product management or product ownership role.

Responsibilities

  • Own product management for turbine controls software and firmware, including release planning, feature prioritization, and commercialization.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Services, and Commercial teams to synthesize customer needs, field performance data, and market trends into actionable product differentiation strategy.
  • Drive business case development, funding justification, and program oversight for both continuous improvement initiatives on existing platforms and next-generation controls development.
  • Define and manage the embedded controls product requirements, balancing new product requirements with fleet sustainability and lifecycle strategy.
  • Collaborate with SCADA, Condition Monitoring, and Grid Integration product managers to ensure cross-platform compatibility and identify opportunities for integrated solutions.
  • Serve as a customer-facing subject matter expert, supporting contract negotiations, technical reviews, and Inquiry-To-Order (ITO) activities.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments relevant to turbine controls and embedded systems.
  • Developing commercial expertise across one or more countries, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customer groups.
  • Influences policy and ensures delivery across large and/or diverse sales territories.
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services.
  • Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.
  • Leads others to find creative solutions to address complex projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers.
  • Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis.
  • Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
