$150,000 - $175,000Remote

About The Position

FMG's compliance platform is central to how tens of thousands of financial advisors and large financial institutions remain compliant with regulations while growing their businesses. This role is responsible for leading the product vision, strategy, and execution for this critical platform. The Product Manager will own the roadmap for enhancing the compliance experience and effectiveness for both advisor and enterprise customers, aiming to make the product faster, smarter, and more reliable. The role requires comfort with both prototyping alongside engineering and presenting product strategy to executives, demonstrating a seamless integration of strategy and execution.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in product management, with significant experience in fintech, wealthtech, regtech, or a compliance-adjacent product area.
  • Direct experience with financial services regulatory frameworks (SEC, FINRA, or equivalent) applied to product decisions.
  • Track record of owning both strategy and hands-on delivery in a senior individual contributor or player-coach role, without a PO or delivery PM.
  • Experience designing or launching an API, SDK, or platform-layer product for external partners or developers.
  • Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) to build working prototypes or MVPs.
  • Comfort operating in an AI-native SDLC, including working alongside engineers using AI tooling, reviewing AI-generated code conceptually, and using AI to accelerate discovery and prototyping.
  • Strong written communication skills, producing documents that drive decisions.
  • Experience with broker-dealer or home office relationships, understanding how BDs evaluate and approve vendor tools.
  • Background in compliance technology, specifically automated review workflows, content archiving, or supervisory systems.
  • Experience pricing and packaging a B2B SaaS product, including enterprise tier design.
  • Prior work at a startup or in a PE-backed company where velocity and capital efficiency shaped roadmap decisions.
  • Energized by owning a product area end-to-end, from customer discovery through delivery and commercial outcome.
  • Comfortable sitting in ambiguity, making decisions, and being accountable.
  • View compliance as a foundation for a great product, not just a constraint.

  • Ensure cross-functional alignment across Engineering, GTM, and Compliance leadership.
  • Validate market demand through customer discovery, competitive analysis, and business case development for platform initiatives.
  • Demonstrate genuine fluency in financial services compliance (SEC Marketing Rule 206(4)-1, FINRA 2210, BD supervisory frameworks) and apply it to product decisions.
  • Understand how home offices manage approval workflows, advisor compliance friction, and regulatory exposure.
  • Own both strategy and delivery without a subordinate Product Owner, running discovery, writing specs, prototyping, partnering with engineering, and managing the post-launch feedback loop.
  • Think in terms of building a platform, including making and defending decisions to expose capabilities via API.
  • Consider developers and partner integrations as first-class stakeholders.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Replit) to build working prototypes and MVPs, collaborating with engineering teams.
  • Understand AI-native SDLC concepts like prompt-driven iteration and rapid prototype validation.
