JABIL is seeking a Senior Product Engineer in Manufacturing Engineering that is the primary point of contact for all Process and Product Development for production program(s) and/or developmental effort(s). This position works closely with process engineering, as well as all the various engineering disciplines to produce circuit boards and box-built products. This position will have oversight of the product’s assembly from kit to ship and may be involved in the program’s life cycle from kick off to contract closure. This role will provide the opportunity to work with customers, engineers, quality and technical experts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
  • Minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience in manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in Product Engineering, with a track record of successfully bringing products from concept to high-volume production.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience, including PowerPoint and advanced knowledge of Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with assemblies, including surface mount technology (SMT), component under fill, staking, and solvent cleaning processes.
  • Experience with SAP, MES, statistical data handling and analysis, experience with root cause/corrective action and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Proficiency in documentation & analysis of engineering drawings, understanding of CAD Software, and presenting analysis results.
  • Knowledge of advanced adhesives, solders, plating schemes, environmentally protective coatings, and other materials used in the assembly of PCBA’s etc.
  • Product Engineering is a combination of a technical expert of processes, programs, and systems in one or multiple functional areas and a change manager with a focus on a change management team to improve current business systems or/and processes.
  • SME Product Engineering will lead all change management-related projects, including CM tool deployments, must train the Site´s employees about CM (ECN, MCN, PCN), and conduct audits to ensure the proper and efficient execution of the CM Procedure and improve the site CM processes.
  • Through the standardization, optimization, and simplification of projects, SME Product Engineering ensures the stakeholders effectively and efficiently execute the change management process.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer BOM’s and implement any ECO’s and Internal ECN’s working with engineers and material for customer changes and implementation
  • Responsible for assembly methods, material selection, and process development for current and next generation technologies, with a heavy emphasis on “hands-on”, material properties, and automated assembly.
  • Evaluate materials and processes (including qualification, NPI’s acceptance testing, and specification development), including interfacing with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  • Interface with all the various functions including Quality, Reliability, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Manufacturing, and Operations.
  • Flexibility to support on-call and on-site production (if needed).
