Sr. Product Analyst

Hipcamp
$137,000 - $180,000

About The Position

We're looking for a Senior Product Analyst to join our Analytics team, whose mission is to provide data insights that drive impact and guide strategy. You'll embed on the Host Camp, a small, cross-functional crew that spans across Product and Ops, to deeply understand the problems our Hosts face. You'll partner closely with team leads on strategy, dig into how people actually use Hipcamp to find growth opportunities, and make sure the team is investing in the most impactful projects. As one of two analysts, the ownership area is large and the autonomy is real. You'll work independently and collaboratively in equal measure, wear a few hats, help set the path when it isn't drawn yet, and find the signal in the ambiguity. You don't wait for a perfectly scoped question and hand a chart back over the fence. Instead, you spot the opportunity, form the hypothesis, validate it quickly, and land the answer that the team can act on. The foundational work that helps the team is as exciting to you as the big, deep analytical projects. We're also big believers in putting AI to work, and we want someone excited to fold it into how they analyze, automate, and think, and to help the whole team do the same. You use statistics and models to inform your analysis and to co-design better experiments. You're literate enough in ML to read a model, reason about what it's telling you, and ask sharp questions of the people who build them. Above all, you connect the numbers to the decision.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in product, growth, or marketing analytics.
  • Strong SQL and data visualization skills.
  • Solid statistics. You design and read experiments well, reason about significance and causality, and know a real signal from noise.
  • Enough ML literacy to use models well: you can interpret model output, fold it into analysis, and co-design experiments around it.
  • A knack for storytelling and clear communication. You translate analysis into a decision, and move a team with it.
  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and you adapt as we learn. You're happy finding impact where the path isn't obvious yet.
  • A full-stack way of working. You generate your own hypotheses, validate them pragmatically, and carry solutions through to implementation.
  • Fluency with AI, and eagerness to weave it into how you (and the team) work.
  • Ease working both independently and with a distributed, cross-functional team.
  • Curiosity to deeply understand the community we serve.
  • A real passion for our mission.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product and Operations to shape strategy for the Host Camp by uncovering growth opportunities, developing your own hypotheses, and making the analytical case for where the team should focus.
  • Co-design experiments, using model outputs and statistical thinking to shape smarter tests that you then set up and iterate quickly to pressure-test your conclusions.
  • Keep the Camp's key performance metrics visible and easy to reach, so everyone can see how they're doing.
  • Use AI throughout your analytical workflow to accelerate exploration, automate repetitive work, prototype ideas quickly, and spend more time on high-value thinking.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to build our AI-powered analytics platform, creating reusable workflows and self-service tools that make trusted data and insights easier to access across the company.
