Function: Procurement Job Summary: The Sr. Procurement Specialist will be responsible for providing dedicated procurement, program and stakeholder support for the Blue Point project. Supports the project based on advanced project procurement knowledge and industry best practices. Conducts day-to-day procurement execution activities in direct alignment with the company-wide function and with the project execution schedule set by Project Management leadership. The Blue Point project is a highly visible green field strategic initiative for CF Industries. Job Description: Strategic Accountabilities: Support the project procurement team to deliver the short term/long term goals of the procurement function in alignment with the Blue Point project plans and schedules. Addresses key areas of supplier cost; safety; risk; reliability; and capabilities. Understand the business priorities of the Blue Point Project execution strategy to develop and deliver effective project support and procurement project strategy including execution of contracting strategies in alignment with organizational expectations. Supports compliance to the procurement process on the Blue Point project and increases involvement of procurement in alignment with the business. Manage key supplier relationships in conjunction with stakeholders to increase alignment and to create value generation between the supplier and CF. Facilitate continuous engagement with the stakeholder community in the procurement process and Blue Point project execution. Actively participate in project stage gate reviews and provide input and assurance around procurement results. Contribute to the development and execution of the risk management plan that addresses key risks in contract management, supply, supplier management and procurement processes. Understands and leverages knowledge of the company’s and competitor’s products, industry trends, and superior business practices, and integrates the same into procurement operations in ways that achieve competitive advantage. Operational Accountabilities: Ensure implementation and adherence of all procurement related policies, practices, and process improvements. Lead the sourcing process including managing proposals, developing proposal recommendations, and negotiating/awarding the final contract. Issue contract releases and purchase orders. Ensure accurate reporting on equipment fabrication progress and delivery updates and participate in equipment update meetings. Expedite critical path orders as required to meet project schedules. Assist with oversight of vendor compliance with contract terms and enforcement when needed. Provide support on imports and logistics. Participates in site meetings and supports site initiatives around safety, reliability, and the community. Incumbent Attributes: Education: BS/BA in business, supply chain, engineering or other related fields. MBA a plus. Years of experience: Six or more years of experience in procurement. Other unique job relevant attributes: Experience with large industrial construction projects and/or operating plants, preferably in oil and gas or chemical industries. Strong technical knowledge of good procurement and industry practices including contract terms negotiation, supplier management, supplier qualification, sourcing bidding and contracting, supplier performance management and risk management. Knowledge of Coupa, Ariba and other procurement systems a plus. Microsoft 365 and Tableau desired. Position Scope/Contribution: Breadth of Scope: Scope is within the Procurement and Material Control organization for North America. Communications and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences at all organizational levels. Advanced level of logical reasoning and critical thinking are required. Financial Accountability: Decisions made may impact project spend and are reflective of the independent judgment, logic and rationale for making such decisions. Strategic Influence: Impacts the execution and achievement of short- and long-term strategies and objectives. Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment which at times may be ambiguous.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in business, supply chain, engineering or other related fields.
  • Six or more years of experience in procurement.
  • Experience with large industrial construction projects and/or operating plants, preferably in oil and gas or chemical industries.
