About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Category Manager/Procurement Specialist to start ASAP! The Sr. Category Manager/Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing vendor relationships, purchasing strategies, product category performance, and pricing initiatives to drive profitability and product availability. This role analyzes market trends, optimizes product assortments, and supports operational teams to ensure supply chain efficiency and business objectives are met.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of procurement, category management, or supply chain experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Experience with category management, sourcing, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in convenience store (C-Store), retail, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) environments.
  • Knowledge of pricing strategy, promotions, and assortment optimization.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and warehouse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships to improve pricing, service levels, and product quality.
  • Create, review, and manage purchase orders to ensure product availability and inventory alignment with demand.
  • Conduct market research to support pricing strategies, promotional planning, and category development.
  • Monitor industry trends through competitive analysis, trade publications, and industry events.
  • Analyze sales data and consumer insights to identify category trends and opportunities.
  • Establish competitive pricing models and promotional strategies for assigned product categories.
  • Evaluate underperforming products and recommend discontinuation, substitution, or replacement strategies.
  • Optimize product portfolios through SKU rationalization, assortment planning, and gap analysis.
  • Lead quarterly vendor business reviews to evaluate performance and growth opportunities.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market plans for new products from concept through launch.
  • Review daily operational reports (out-of-stocks, price changes, open purchase orders) and resolve issues.
  • Provide operational support to warehouse and supply chain leadership teams.
