About The Position

AWS Cloud Logistics (ACL) manages a global logistics — spanning air, ocean, and ground transportation across thousands of lanes and dozens of warehouses worldwide. At the center of this network is a need to procure, manage, and optimize the partnerships and contracts that make it all move. As the Sr. Manager of AWS Cloud Logistics Procurement, you will serve as the head of a team of logistics procurement professionals responsible for the full lifecycle of logistics service provider (LSP) commercials across all modes of transportation and warehousing globally. You will set the strategy and direction for how ACL sources logistics services, negotiates and manages contracts, controls transportation and warehousing rates, and delivers spend transparency and analytics to senior leadership. This is a senior leadership role that requires both deep subject matter expertise in global logistics procurement and the ability to operate at scale across a large, complex, and ambiguous business environment. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders across finance, legal, operations, and technology, as well as externally with logistics service providers at the most senior levels. Your decisions will have direct financial impact on ACL's global transportation and warehousing spend.

Requirements

• 5+ years of negotiations and vendor management experience
• 8+ years of people management experience
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 10+ years of vendor management experience

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of logistics procurement professionals, setting individual and team goals aligned to ACL's global transportation and warehousing strategy, and mentoring team members to grow their expertise and career.
• Own the end-to-end sourcing strategy for ACL's logistics services across all modes — air, ocean, and ground transportation — and across warehousing globally, including strategy development, RFP/RFQ processes, bid evaluation, and award decisions.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with logistics service providers, including negotiating rates, key commercial terms, service level agreements, and performance incentive/penalty structures that protect Amazon's interests and deliver value at scale.
• Drive contract lifecycle management from execution through renewal or termination, partnering with legal and finance to ensure obligations are met, risks are mitigated, and terms evolve with business needs.
• Deliver spend analytics and reporting to senior leadership, providing regular visibility into transportation and warehousing spend, actuals vs. plan, variance analysis, and trend identification across ACL's global network.
• Manage LSP relationships at an executive level, serving as the primary point of escalation and strategic engagement for ACL's most important logistics service providers globally.
• Partner with finance, legal, and operations to drive alignment on procurement strategy, manage total cost of ownership, and ensure procurement decisions are compliant with Amazon's global policies and standards.
