MetroStar is seeking an experienced Sr. Procurement Analyst I to support our Department of the Air Force (DAF) Category Management (CM) workstream on-site to the Pentagon. The ideal candidate is someone who can synthesize complex and sometimes imperfect data into clear insights and trends to support senior leadership decision-making, and also is highly engaged, proactive, and able to translate analysis into actionable recommendations, even under tight timelines and quick-turn taskers. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or similar field.
  • 5+ years of experience in consulting, data analysis, supply or procurement programs, or similar field.
  • Strong background in financial data analysis, business intelligence, and market research.
  • Experience supporting Category Management, ITBM (IT Business Management), business analytics, acquisition strategy, and/or strategic sourcing in a DoD/Federal environment.
  • Experience using DoD Data Platforms (e.g. Advana; acceptable alternatives are Data 2 Decisions, SAM.gov/FPDS, General Ledger systems, and/or PMRT EA).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced DoD setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support Category Managers and Advisors by conducting spend analyses, market research, business case development, and opportunity assessments to identify cost savings, strengthen demand management, and improve acquisition efficiency.
  • Use data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Advana) and emerging automation technologies to generate financial insights, identify performance gaps, and inform senior leader decision-making.
  • Produce clear, strategic written deliverables, including reports and executive-level presentations/briefings, for senior Air Force (USAF) leadership.
  • Develop and refine business processes and documentation, including process maps, charters, white papers, and executive briefing materials.
  • Plan and support workshops, working groups, and stakeholder engagements (e.g., Category Intelligence Reports, Deep Dives, Category Management Councils) by preparing materials, facilitating discussions, and capturing key takeaways and action items.
  • Utilize knowledge repositories (e.g., SharePoint) to enhance visibility, performance monitoring, and access to information.
