About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the IBCS Algorithms Team, supporting development of mission-critical defense systems. The role focuses on improving system capabilities and software support for computing platforms that enable next-generation capabilities. The engineer will work across software, hardware, cybersecurity, specialty engineering, and program leadership to troubleshoot issues, support integration activities, perform systems performance analysis, and help ensure reliable system performance throughout the system lifecycle. An active DoD Secret clearance is required. Travel is 10% of the time; relocation assistance is not available.

Requirements

• 8 years of experience with a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Computer, or Electrical) or Physics; 6 years with a master's degree; or 3 years with a Ph.D. for Sr Principal Engineer Systems, Level 4.
• At least 5 years of experience in design, development, simulation modeling, and/or analysis of air and/or missile defense battle management system capabilities.
• At least 3 years of experience developing simulation and/or tactical software products using C++ and/or Java.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Git, RHEL, Python, Jupyter Notebook, Ant, and Maven.

Responsibilities
