About The Position

The Processing, Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Discipline consists of Guidance, Navigation and Control; Signal Processing; and Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis disciplines for Effectors. The Signal Processing team is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer – Seeker Signal Processing & Embedded Software Lead Engineer. As the Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Seeker Signal Processing & Embedded Software Lead Engineer, you will enable the successful development and integration of new capabilities on a software upgrade program. You will provide technical and organizational leadership for a cross-functional team of approximately 25–30 engineers spanning Signal Processing, Embedded Software Engineering, Configurable Logic Engineering, and CMBRE software. Your team will mature advanced algorithms, real-time signal processing solutions, and integrated embedded software architectures that meet stringent performance, reliability, and verification requirements. The role also includes Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities, including Earned Value Management (EVM), budgeting, planning, and performance tracking for assigned control accounts. This is an onsite position located in Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience managing or leading others in a technical and/or functional engineering capacity
  • Experience with algorithm design, implementation, analysis, testing, and optimization
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. Government issued security clearance is required prior to start date, with the ability to obtain special program access
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences, with the ability to advocate for optimal solutions and strategy
  • Radar and/or EO/IR signal processing experience in missile system applications
  • Experience with hardware/software/configurable logic integration of advanced algorithms
  • Ability to interface effectively across engineering disciplines including: Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineering, Signal Processing Engineering, Embedded Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering
  • Experience supporting customer programs in missile system environments
  • Experience with version control tools such as Azure DevOps and Git
  • Subject‑matter expertise in RF algorithms such as adaptive processing, beamforming, angle estimation, synthetic aperture radar, waveform design, tracking, feature extraction, or classification/recognition
  • Experience preparing technical documentation or delivering system‑level analysis and outputs to stakeholders
  • Experience maintaining architectural coherence and requirements traceability across complex engineering efforts
  • Experience managing technical risks and integration dependencies
  • Experience coordinating design, implementation, and integration activities aligned with aggressive customer‑driven program milestones
  • Experience ensuring engineering execution supports long‑term strategic program objectives
  • Experience working within Agile engineering processes and contributing to cross‑functional Agile teams
  • Experience performing CAM and EVM responsibilities, including planning, budgeting, performance measurement, and reporting

Responsibilities

  • Provide unified technical direction across all software- and algorithm-related disciplines
  • Lead diverse, multi‑discipline engineering teams and ensure strong collaboration, integrated decision‑making, and effective communication
  • Maintain architectural coherence and requirements traceability across Signal Processing, Embedded Software, Configurable Logic, and CMBRE engineering domains
  • Drive development of advanced signal processing and tracking algorithms supporting next‑generation mission capability
  • Manage technical risk and integration dependencies across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Coordinate design, implementation, and integration activities to meet aggressive, customer‑driven program milestones and internal program commitments
  • Ensure engineering execution aligns with program objectives and long‑term strategic direction
  • Perform CAM duties, including planning, budgeting, EVM tracking, variance analysis, forecasting, and reporting for assigned control accounts
  • Participate in Agile planning, execution, and continuous‑improvement processes, contributing to iterative development, backlog refinement, and cross‑functional team alignment
