About The Position

Sr. Principal System Administrator based in Tewksbury, MA, internally known as Manager, Information Workplace Services collaborate and support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advance Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience administering Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) server, desktop, or virtualized environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure services and secure computing environments, including areas such as Active Directory, identity and access management, system configuration, patching, troubleshooting, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, networking, or lifecycle management.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive experience administering Microsoft Windows and RHEL enterprise environments, including technologies such as AD DS, Group Policy, DFS, WDS, WSUS, MECM/SCCM, MDT, PXE, PKI, Kerberos, and Linux/Windows integration technologies such as Centrify, Samba, SSSD, or NIS; experience developing automation and administrative scripts using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Perl, C, or similar languages.
  • Experience with virtualization and enterprise infrastructure technologies, including VMware vCenter, vSphere, Horizon, ESXi, storage, backup and recovery, networking, and/or High-Performance Computing (HPC).
  • Experience implementing cybersecurity and compliance controls, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance assessments using technologies such as ACAS, Splunk, Nessus, SCAP, STIG/EVAL STIG, and Ivanti within environments governed by NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, and/or DoD RMF requirements.
  • Experience supporting engineering environments used for software development, simulation, integration, and hardware development, including working within Agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership with strong troubleshooting, teamwork, communication, collaboration, customer service, and organizational skills, including the ability to mentor others and lead complex technical efforts across multiple stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, providing technical leadership in the design, implementation, troubleshooting, and sustainment of physical and virtual infrastructure.
  • Collaborate across Digital Technology and supported programs to develop and deliver cost-effective hardware and software solutions that meet current and future business needs while leveraging industry best practices.
  • Partner with customers, engineers, system administrators, storage architects, network engineers, tools teams, and High-Performance Computing (HPC) teams to design solutions and resolve complex infrastructure challenges.
  • Ensure high levels of system availability, reliability, and performance through proactive monitoring, infrastructure management, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable cybersecurity and regulatory requirements, including DFARS, Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST cybersecurity standards, and organizational security requirements.
  • Respond to service and support requests, ensuring work is appropriately prioritized, tracked, documented, and driven to resolution while delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Develop and maintain technical and operational documentation, standards, and procedures while mentoring and developing other system administrators through technical leadership, knowledge sharing, cross-training, and hands-on guidance.
  • Work full time onsite within a Department of Defense (DoD) closed area and support occasional planned and unplanned activities outside standard business hours. Travel to other U.S. domestic locations may be required, up to 10% annually.
  • Obtain applicable Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140/8570 certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within six months of the start date.
