Sr Principal SW IPT Lead/CAM
About The Position
The Engineering & Sciences organization supporting the Advanced Navigation business area at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Software Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead/Control Account Manager (CAM) based out of Woodland Hills, CA. The Software IPT Lead/CAM is responsible for planning, budgeting, executing and progress reporting for a team of software, systems, and test engineers. The primary goal is the development of software for the latest M-code capable embedded GPS/Inertial Navigation System. The SW IPT Lead/CAM ensures the integrity of engineering processes, and the timely development of software engineering work products to allow airworthiness certification. This role will include participation in software development activities (e.g., requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and unit testing) as well as reviewing developed software products to ensure compliance with established software development processes and that DO-178 objectives are met. The SW IPT Lead/CAM will have Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibility, which comprises cost and schedule management for the SW work scope. The SW IPT Lead interfaces with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, System Architect, other engineering team leads, as well as the customer. This position is contingent upon the successful transfer of an active DoD Secret Clearance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Project Engineering, or related technical fields; Master’s degree with 6 years of experience; or PhD with 4 years
- Risk and Opportunity Management experience
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Experience measuring software development progress against baseline estimates
- Experience directing software development teams
- Experience in software development, integration, and test
- Prior team leadership in DoD programs
- Demonstrated exceptional communication skills
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Woodland Hills, CA

Responsibilities
- Serve as a cost account manager for the software engineering responsibilities
- Oversee the planning and execution of software functions for the EGI-M program, including hands-on participation in software development activities
- Setup and conduct scrum-Agile ceremonies (PI planning, Sprint planning, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives, PI reviews)
- Identify and mitigate execution risks to software development on the program
- Determine the staffing needed to develop software and work with functional managers to adjust staffing within multiple scrum teams
- Present portions of the execution plan and progress to the customer community and senior leadership
- Collect, manage and report the program metrics and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs)
- Coordinate between the System Architect, Chief Engineer, Systems Engineering Integration & Test Lead, program manager, and customer to ensure the integrity and executability of the program technical baseline
- Review software work products (requirements, design, code, test cases, and test results) for process compliance and to ensure DO-178 objectives and airworthiness certification needs are met
- Align measurement objectives and activities to meet program performance goals and objectives
