Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Network Architect/Engineer to lead the design, development, and evolution of Comcast’s next‑generation core and regional IP network architectures. This position is a Sr. Director equivalent on the individual contributor path. This role requires deep expertise across routing, transport, automation, and large‑scale service provider backbone design. The ideal candidate brings proven experience driving complex network architecture programs, cross‑functional technical leadership, and hands-on engineering depth across multiple routing platforms and protocols Job Description Summary Strong preference for candidates located in or able to work from our Bishops Gate or CTC (Philadelphia) office. Individuals in these roles are technical leaders with deep knowledge in their domain and are focused on executing and advancing the technical strategy of the organization. Highly senior Network Architect/Engineer role responsible for leading the design, development, and evolution of next‑generation core and regional IP network architectures. Drives major national backbone initiatives, including software‑driven core networks, Segment Routing, and controller‑based traffic‑engineering solutions. Leads definition, validation, and deployment of CLOS‑based architectures, multi‑plane designs, and disaggregated routing platforms. Develops end‑to‑end IP architectures supporting services such as CRAN, Cloud DVR, VOD, multicast distribution, and commercial backhaul solutions. Guides high‑capacity transport integrations including DWDM, 100G/400G optics, and ZR+ technologies. Provides cross‑functional technical leadership across product, engineering, operations, and vendor teams while shaping long‑term technology roadmaps. Oversees automation frameworks leveraging OpenConfig, YANG, and modern telemetry pipelines to standardize configuration and simplify large‑scale provisioning. Serves as Tier‑4 escalation and SME for complex network issues, migrations, traffic shifts, M&A integrations, and large‑scale operational programs. Mentors engineers at all levels, delivering internal training on routing technologies, automation, and tooling. Lead highly technical, hands on engineering projects from concept through execution. Collaborate effectively across a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership, peer architects, and downstream engineering teams. Present complex technical and architectural concepts to senior leaders with clarity and confidence. Translate high-level architectural strategies into actionable guidance for engineering teams at varying technical levels. Operate seamlessly in multiple roles, shifting between executive level communication, peer collaboration, and deep dive engineering work. Work closely with other senior engineers to ensure alignment, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem solving. Blend architectural vision with hands on engineering delivery to support end-to-end solution implementation.
