About The Position
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Program Sr Principal Mission Assurance Engineer to support its Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) team in Ogden, Utah. The role supports Mission Assurance functions to help ensure mission success and may offer relocation assistance. The engineer reviews GBSD drawings, statements of work, and requirements documents; performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability, and maintainability; assesses program performance and risks; and determines resources needed for mission assurance. The position supports Program Quality Managers with Mission Assurance and program management requirements, quality plans, corrective and preventive action activities, program metrics, management review packages, customer corrective action requests, and conditional acceptance requirements. It also monitors closure of conditionally accepted hardware and coordinates corrective actions with Integrated Product Team Mission Assurance and Quality Engineering staff. The standard schedule is 9/80: nine-hour days Monday through Thursday, with every other Friday off. The position requires an active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance at application and the ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval. Travel is 10% of the time.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, 6 years with a master’s degree, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 3 years in a production quality environment supporting production operations and manufacturing engineers in process development and improvements.
- Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application, current and within scope.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with cable and wire harness assembly and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with industry-common MRB processing software, such as Manufacturing Execution System (MES) or Solumina.
- Experience developing or improving work orders for Quality and Mission Assurance buy-offs.
- Experience developing and implementing Mission Assurance or Quality Assurance plans.
- Experience with root-cause corrective actions and MRB.
- Experience working in manufacturing or laboratory environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Review GBSD drawings, statements of work, and requirements documents.
- Perform or assure quality, risk management, safety, reliability, and maintainability of GBSD achievements.
- Assess GBSD performance and risks and determine resources to ensure mission assurance.
- Assist Program Quality Managers with GBSD Mission Assurance and program management requirements.
- Support development, implementation, and maintenance of GBSD Program Quality Plans.
- Support and facilitate GBSD program FRBs, including root-cause identification, corrective-action implementation, and reach-back and reach-across activities.
- Assist with preparation and execution of the Program Preventive and Corrective Action Board (PCAB).
- Develop and maintain GBSD Program Metrics.
- Assist in preparing Program Management Program Review packages.
- Support customer corrective action requests.
- Support Integrated Product Team Mission Assurance and Quality Engineering staff with Conditional Acceptance requirements and flow-down.
- Monitor timely closure of conditionally accepted hardware and coordinate corrective actions with Integrated Product Team Mission Assurance and Quality Engineers.
