About The Position

The Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer defines, optimizes, and sustains process integration flows across multiple manufacturing modules in a high-volume semiconductor environment. The role leads cross-module problem solving, supports product and process development, and drives improvements in yield, manufacturability, and reliability. Operating with limited supervision, the engineer influences integration strategy and partners with process, equipment, and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated process performance meets product requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, or 6 years with a master's degree, or 3 years with a Ph.D.; equivalent experience is also accepted.
  • Knowledge or skills listed include 8D methodology and reporting, change management, communication, cross-functional teamwork, defect identification, defect metrology and reduction, defect analysis, DOE, electrical characterization and measurements, electroplating, etching, manufacturing execution systems (MES) and MES integration, metrology, MEMS, optical metrology, photolithography, problem analysis and solving, and process integration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine integrated process flows across multiple modules.
  • Ensure process interactions meet product performance and reliability targets.
  • Align unit process capabilities with integration requirements.
  • Lead investigations into yield loss, defect mechanisms, and process interactions.
  • Use data analysis and design of experiments (DOE) to drive structured problem solving.
  • Implement corrective actions to improve yield and process capability.
  • Support integration activities for new product introduction (NPI), pilot builds, and production ramp.
  • Contribute to process qualification and manufacturability assessments.
  • Help translate R&D processes into scalable manufacturing flows.
  • Partner with process, equipment, yield, product, and operations teams.
  • Serve as a technical interface for resolving cross-module issues.
  • Support design for manufacturability (DfM) and process alignment.
  • Analyze electrical test, inline metrology, and defect data.
  • Execute DOEs to improve process integration and resolve process interactions.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methods, including DMAIC and 8D.
  • Maintain integration documentation, process flows, and specifications.
  • Support change control processes and qualification activities.
  • Ensure traceability and consistency of process changes.
