Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as a Sr. Principal Logistics Management Analyst This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. This position is an integral member of a sustainment logistics team responsible for the management of complex spare parts and support assets that enable fleet readiness for advanced aerospace systems. The role requires a strong background in U.S. Government aircraft maintenance and logistics management processes, excellent communication skills, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be a team player and a strong independent contributor, proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable leading logistics activities that directly impact asset availability and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience in logistics, supply chain, or maintenance; OR a Master’s degree and 6 years of related experience in logistics, supply chain, or maintenance; OR a PhD and 4 years of related experience in logistics, supply chain, or maintenance.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final U.S. adjudicated government Secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical data to determine parts applicability and usage.
  • Experience with technical specifications and industry standards relevant to aircraft parts and maintenance.
  • Solid understanding of government aircraft maintenance and supply processes and systems.
  • Experience with sustainment of large weapon system programs (e.g., fighter, bomber, ISR, or autonomous systems).
  • Experience integrating with Global Supply Chain organizations and U.S. Government logistics counterparts.
  • Experience supporting the stand‑up or operation of centralized inventory control processes (e.g., C‑ICP or equivalent).
  • Experience working within SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for material management and logistics.
  • Prior experience as a Government Equipment Specialist or Aircraft Maintenance Technician.
  • Hands‑on experience with logistics and engineering data tools such as Teamcenter Enterprise, Engineering Logistics Management System (ELMS/ELMA), and Engineering Source Data (ESD).
  • Experience with DMSMS/obsolescence management and supportability analysis.
  • Certified through the Acquisition Professional Development Program in Program Management and/or Acquisition Logistics.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, and AS9102 aerospace/industry standards.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain inventory models and stock strategies to maximize asset availability within defined budgetary constraints.
  • Determine and assign Authorized Stock Levels (ASL) and Reorder Points (ROP) to meet program readiness requirements while managing cost and shelf‑life risk.
  • Optimize inventory turnover, monitor usage and demand trends, and support execution of budgetary responsibilities for assigned material portfolios.
  • Assist in sales/consumption forecasting and material planning to support program financial and operational goals.
  • Conduct supportability and risk analyses to identify potential supply chain disconnects and recommend mitigation actions (e.g., alternate sourcing, repair vs. replace, safety stock adjustments).
  • Support procurement activities by providing logistics input, validating requirements, and helping prioritize buys to align with sustainment posture and fleet needs.
  • Ensure Bills of Material (BOMs) and associated logistics data are accurate and available to support sustainment activities and scheduled maintenance or modification events.
  • Support the stand‑up and maturation of centralized inventory control processes (e.g., C‑ICP), including definition of roles, processes, and performance metrics.
  • Integrate with Global Supply Chain and U.S. Government counterparts to align material strategies, resolve issues, and ensure coordinated support to the warfighter.
  • Monitor and track sustainment metrics (e.g., fill rate, backorders, days of supply, not mission capable for supply) and drive corrective actions as needed.
  • Interface with internal functional and program organizations (engineering, supply chain, maintenance, finance) and work closely with external customers to resolve issues and communicate status.
  • Support configuration and data integrity for logistics records to ensure alignment between engineering configuration and supply support structures.
  • For more senior candidates: provide mentoring to junior logistics analysts and support continuous improvement initiatives for tools, processes, and data quality.
