About The Position

The Effector Guidance Electronics team develops electrical hardware for missile guidance systems and flight avionics across Raytheon’s product portfolio. Its work includes architecture, analysis, requirements, integration, and test, using technologies such as FPGA, RF/RADAR, navigation/IMU/GPS, digital electronics, and power systems. The team partners with electrical product departments responsible for detailed product design and with missile-level systems teams. The Sr. Principal Engineer leads and manages cross-functional, cross-discipline electrical engineering teams through product development, providing technical guidance and supervision to meet project commitments. The role may also involve managing engineering materials and suppliers and leading proposal-development efforts. Work is primarily in an office, with possible laboratory or field work. Assignments may cover multiple programs and phases of the hardware systems lifecycle, including design and analysis, electronic-system architecture, subsystem requirements and test plans, design reviews, presentations, and root-cause failure investigations. The role includes mentoring and being mentored, collaboration with management, customers, and suppliers, and may require domestic or foreign travel. The position is onsite in Huntsville, Alabama, and relocation assistance is available.
