About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Software Engineer to support the Sentinel program. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will be part of the Digital Ecosystem EMAS organization. The role involves designing and defining system architecture, developing software in an agile environment, designing automated test procedures, collaborating with lead engineers to develop automated tools, and developing Software Test Plans and Procedures.

Requirements

  • 8 Years with Bachelors in Science; 6 Years with Masters or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
  • US Citizenship with Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Experience with Agile and working in a cross-function Scrum team.
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluence
  • Experience developing React applications and Jest testing framework
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Familiar with Software Development Plans
  • Familiar with Software Engineering best practices

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
  • At least 3+ years experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule with proven results
  • Proficient with DOORS, Cameo with the ability to develop and decompose system requirements
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) languages (SysML/UML) and concepts, Node.js
  • Ability to evaluate risks and tradeoffs and present solution options to management
  • Experience interpreting complex algorithms and requirements for implementation
  • Familiar with Systems Engineering processes
  • Ability to provide and implement solutions to advanced problems which require ingenuity and innovation
  • Experience demonstrating excellent technical leadership, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills, effectively engaging with various stakeholders
  • Capable of working with minimal direction, independently determines and develops technical objectives of assignments, and presents work upon completion for high level review
