About The Position

As a Sr Principal Electrical Engineer at MKS you will partner with a talented, multidisciplinary team supplying precision vacuum pressure measurement instruments to the semiconductor, medical, and industrial equipment markets. Key activities will include developing and releasing products, identifying product performance limitations and establishing roadmaps to improvement. This is an exciting, hands-on role with significant growth potential. Through a deep understanding of sensors and instrumentation, identify the impediments to improved performance and develop new architectures and circuits to advance the technology. Troubleshoot complex issues to root cause and support the product team in resolution. Develop and release new vacuum sensing products that deliver market advantages in performance, cost, and size. Lead or participate as a lead member of multi-disciplinary product teams, with full responsibility for the electronics development and release.

Requirements

  • Deep technical background in low-noise electronics and precision sensors
  • Significant experience with embedded microprocessors
  • Extensive experience supporting multidisciplinary products
  • Ability to logically work through challenging troubleshooting and problem-solving activities
  • Strong product-level technical skills and some cross-discipline experience, including electronics, firmware, mechanical, and sensors
  • Hands-on engineering skills, capable of test development, setup, and execution
  • Good understanding of manufacturing systems and documentation control, BOM structures, and ECO processes
  • Self-motivated
  • Intense customer/product focus
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable leading technical discussions
  • BS or higher in Engineering with 12+ years of experience
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Reside in states where MKS is registered to do business
