About The Position

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Cyber Systems Engineer – Cyber ISSO/Scrum Master (26-349) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Based at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels. This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options. The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, collectively monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations, both globally and regionally, to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems. Serve as the main ISSO, Scrum Master, and primary contact for designated systems and stakeholders. Manage and coordinate ATO support, SSP updates, continuous monitoring, POA&M activities, and risk acceptance procedures. Lead an ISSO team responsible for system security, authorization, compliance, and risk oversight.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline from an accredited university, along with 12 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a related field with 10 years of relevant work experience; or 16 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
  • Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAM Level III or higher (such as CISM, CISSP (or Associate), CCISO, GSLC, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
  • Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
  • Extensive hands-on experience with supporting ATO packages, ongoing monitoring, POA&M management, and risk activities
  • Strong working knowledge of NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and federal compliance requirements
  • Experience serving as a lead coordinator or primary liaison for system-security activities
  • Experience using GRC tools like eMASS or Xacta.
  • Excellent skills in communication, coordination, organization, and engaging stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day execution of security and compliance activities for assigned systems
  • Coordinate with Information Owners, System/Application Owners, technical teams, privacy stakeholders, and governance teams to resolve issues and track remediation
  • Oversee preparation of systems and documentation for Security Control Assessments (SCAs), audits, and ongoing authorization
  • Track system risks, assessment findings, POA&M activities, and remediation status to ensure timely resolution
  • Oversee maintenance of system artifacts and records in GRC platforms such as eMASS or Xacta
  • Facilitate recurring stakeholder meetings and provide compliance status updates, reports, and risk summaries
  • Provide task oversight, coordination, and guidance to ISSO personnel supporting assigned systems
  • Ensure assigned systems remain aligned with JSIG, NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and agency cybersecurity requirements
  • Support and maintain reporting dashboards, status tracking, and collaboration artifacts across Jira, Confluence, and related collaboration platforms
  • Perform Cyber Tasks as required by the Cyber Lead
