About The Position

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead with technical background in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, RF, and Integration and Test for Open Architecture Radars. This position is in Linthicum, MD. This IPT Lead will be required to lead an engineering team working to transition designs to production for a very important sector priority program with many time-critical elements and high management visibility. They are the definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering on all program elements (hardware/software/support/test) and leads a multi disciplined engineering team managing the technical performance of the program meeting cost and schedule requirements including subcontracted elements. Coordinates requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities. Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliant with company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Maintains cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company. Continually coordinates with the systems engineering and program integration team (PIT) leader to ensure the execution of program statement of work and baselines and serves as the technical point of contact with the customer. The selected candidate will perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings. The selected candidate is expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills. These roles are contingent upon candidates ability to obtain and maintain government Secret Clearance, and to be SAP Clearable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or STEM-related degree, with 8 years of industry experience, or Master’s degree and 6 years of industry experience. An additional 4 years experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret government clearance.
  • Experience with Front End Design (FED), RF Electronics, RF Cabling, COTS procurement and testing, and System Cabling.
  • Experience with hardware design and/or hardware integration & test and/or experience moving hardware through the BWI factory.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Control Account Manager (CAM) activities and the Earned Value Management system (EVMS).
  • Fluency with developing and executing project schedules.
  • Experience reporting project status to program, functional management and/or customers.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with 1.5 years minimum experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, program manager or other leadership position leading engineers supporting a program or business function.
  • Available onsite at the BWI facility during first shift.
  • Mechanically focused engineer with experience making drawing updates and pushing drawing through process.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain government Secret Clearance, and to be SAP Clearable.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership of multi‑site or multi‑sector IPTs.
  • Experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, IBM Rational DOORS).
  • Experience with REX (receiver/exciter) through design or integration and test, Antenna Subsystem, and/or general RF Integration and test for hardware.
  • Experience working with Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing Material Processing.
  • Experience with the Root Cause Correction Action (RCCA) process.
  • PMP certification a plus.
  • Active and current Top Secret government clearance a plus.

  • Identify and quantify risks/opportunities.
  • Manage products in the critical path of a program.
  • Perform LRU/LRM Integration and testing for an EMD product transitioning to production.
