Lilly is currently constructing an advanced manufacturing facility for production of API molecules located in Houston, TX. This facility is intended to provide APIs for current and future products, including new modalities. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the site technical team for the startup of a greenfield manufacturing site, and the successful candidate will help to build the Processes, the facility and the culture to enable a successful startup into GMP manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Industrial Equipment Control, API Manufacturing Process control, Utilities Automation or Environmental Control Systems.
  • Working experience troubleshooting Instrumentation and control integrations.
  • Significant experience and strong problem-solving skills in measurements, control (process and/or manufacturing), control systems, integration, and data.
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role, including but not limited to F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to work safely.
  • Demonstrated experience working with two or more automation platforms, preferably Delta-V and Rockwell Automation Systems.
  • Knowledge and experience working with sensing Field instrumentation (Temp, Hum, Diss Oxy, PH, RH, Pressure, Flow, etc.), Acting Instrumentation (Valves, Relays, etc.) and transducing instrumentation (I/P, P/I, V/P, P/V, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Knowledge of GMP’s and pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating System

Responsibilities

  • Providing continuous supporting automation platforms.
  • Troubleshooting process interruptions, field devices diagnostics, communications intermittencies, and platform security events.
  • Supporting and contributing with technical expertise to enhance Automation Systems performance and operability.
  • Work safely and continually looks for improvements in personnel and equipment safety, ensure safe design and operation of new equipment, ensure automation design reflects safety concerns for operations and maintenance.
  • Partner with colleagues to properly support and enhance the Automated Systems and Equipment.
  • Perform solution assessment and performance reviews and verify the proper and efficient operation of the automated systems.
  • Partner with colleagues to support the discipline through solution assessment, replication, and development.
  • Manage tools, and implement engineering standards, master specifications and best practices.
  • Provide technical coaching and consultation to other Lilly engineers and facilitate shared learning forums.
  • Support Projects and the integration of new equipment/technologies to the manufacturing workflow.
  • Keep current on external trends and practices to evaluate technology for application within Lilly.
