About The Position

This role is essential for developing and optimizing platform services that support core data workloads and infrastructure performance. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of related work experience OR advanced degree with 1 year of related work experience OR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required)
• Acceptable areas of study include Computer Science or Related Field (Preferred)
• Agile Methodologies Expertise in applying Agile practices and principles to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of software development projects. (Required)
• Technical Leadership Ability to lead platform engineering teams, providing technical guidance and support in a dynamic environment. (Required)
• Problem Solving Strong analytical skills to solve complex technical issues and optimize platform performance and security. (Required)
• Data Management Proficient in managing and structuring large datasets to improve platform functionality and developer experience. (Required)
• Collaboration Effective in working cross-functionally with various teams to enhance platform capabilities and achieve business goals. (Required)
• Security In-depth understanding of cybersecurity principles to safeguard platform integrity and data privacy. (Required)

Nice To Haves

• 4-7 years Developing and deploying platform services with a focus on automation and operational excellence (Preferred)
• 4-7 years Collaborating with engineering, data, and product teams in an Agile environment to advance platform capabilities (Preferred)
• 4-7 years Optimizing infrastructure for performance, security, and cost-efficiency in a cloud environment (Preferred)
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA): Certification that validates the ability to design, build, configure, and expose native cloud applications for Kubernetes, an essential skill for platform engineers working with container orchestration. (Preferred)
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect: Certification demonstrating proficiency in designing distributed systems and applications on the AWS platform, which is crucial for optimizing platform services in cloud environments. (Preferred)
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) An advanced-level certification for IT pros serious about careers in information security, focusing on managing and securing corporate environments, aligning with the security aspects of the role. (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy platform services to improve infrastructure performance, security, and cost-efficiency
• Optimize existing platform services to efficiently handle core data workloads
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams to advance platform capabilities
• Implement automation and operational improvements to enhance developer experience
• Ensure robust platform architecture through practical engineering solutions
• Work within an Agile environment to streamline processes and increase productivity
• Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed
