About The Position

Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure solutions in a greenfield environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy. Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and GitHub Actions. Support developer experience through CI/CD tooling, test-based development practices, and automation. Manage and operate Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads. Implement observability solutions using OpenTelemetry (OTel) and related tooling. Collaborate with non-CI/CD-native systems including Boomi — willingness to learn and implement CI/CD patterns within the Boomi platform (training provided). Participate in a Tier 3 on-call rotation as part of a team of 3-4 engineers, with flexibility for personal commitments. Communicate and collaborate across departments, including AWS and DevOps practitioner communities within Crane Worldwide. Cross-train team members and contribute to building a strong internal engineering culture.

Requirements

  • Strong experience architecting and implementing solutions on AWS — including EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and related services.
  • Proficiency with Linux systems administration and operations.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code expertise using Terraform.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes and container technologies.
  • Experience implementing observability using OpenTelemetry (OTel).
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and tooling.
  • AWS certifications required (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent).
  • Self-driven with the ability to navigate and deliver in greenfield or ambiguous technical environments.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate across engineering, operations, and business teams.
  • Willingness to learn unfamiliar platforms and tools as needs evolve.
  • Comfortable working in a small, high-ownership on-call rotation with flexibility for personal commitments.
  • Passion for developer experience, automation, and building scalable, maintainable systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Grafana experience is a bonus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Equivalent experience and certifications considered in lieu of formal degree.
  • Strong preference for candidates who actively pursue continuing education, certifications, and skill development.
