About The Position

This role provides leadership and direction for a team of entry-level production employees to ensure customer demand is consistently met. The Sr Plant Manager will coordinate daily production activities and distribution requirements, including local delivery routes and shuttle scheduling. They will lead reliability, compliance, quality, and safety initiatives to meet governmental and environmental regulations. This position ensures employees are trained and committed to Linde Safety and Quality systems, working closely with the Compliance Manager to coordinate training. The role involves monitoring production performance and manpower levels to maintain efficiency, anticipate problems, and develop contingencies. The Sr Plant Manager will identify operational challenges and lead improvement efforts related to production processes, shift scheduling, and training, reporting progress and findings to plant management. Additionally, they will manage and escalate equipment and product quality issues, maintaining adequate inventory of production supplies and supporting 5S and Lean Projects and hazardous waste activities, continuously identifying ways to reduce plant operating costs through Operational Excellence strategies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial plant environment
  • 5+ years of experience in Driver, operations, distribution or quality roles
  • At least 3 years of experience leading and developing employees
  • Willingness to work in a unionized environment is required
