The Senior Phlebotomist provides advanced support in specimen collection, laboratory workflow coordination, and customer service for patients of all ages, ranging from newborns to the elderly. In addition to performing phlebotomy procedures, this role is responsible for “working the desk” — triaging specimen requests, responding to calls from nurses and physicians, receiving and processing specimens delivered to the lab, and coordinating timely redraws. The Senior Phlebotomist also trains and mentors team members, validates competencies, and serves as a resource to clinical staff on laboratory-related processes. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies while supporting accurate, efficient, and compassionate specimen collection and laboratory operations. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.
