Sr PGD Engineer - RNG Data Systems & AI Integration Specialist
About The Position
As a Sr. PGD Engineer – RNG Data Systems & AI Integration Specialist within the Power Generation Division, supporting the Renewable Operations Integration team, you will play a critical role in advancing the digital integration, operational readiness, and long-term performance of NextEra Energy’s Renewable Natural Gas and Landfill Gas to Energy assets. This role is focused on strengthening the data, reporting, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities that support RNG plant operations, maintenance strategy, commissioning handoff, asset onboarding, and fleet reliability. The position combines deep data systems integration with applied analytics, Python-based automation, and AI-driven tools to improve operational visibility, reduce manual workflows, and support better decision-making across RNG facilities. You will partner closely with Operations Managers, Lead Project Managers, Engineering & Construction, IT, Data & Analytics, contractors, vendors, and field teams to support the transition of RNG assets from construction and commissioning into fully integrated steady-state operations. This includes improving Maximo asset structures, SCADA/EWIS integrations, Ignition and Grafana dashboards, operational KPIs, maintenance data quality, and predictive analytics use cases. This position offers a unique opportunity to help shape the digital foundation for RNG operations while directly supporting plant reliability, production performance, operational readiness, and continuous improvement across a growing renewable gas fleet.
Requirements
- Bachelor's - Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- 4+ years of experience
Responsibilities
- Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities which have important impact on major company programs
- Acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual's field
- Completes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
