About The Position

The PFAS Process Lead will serve in a seller-doer role, growing opportunities and leading the execution of projects related to compliance with the proposed per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) regulations. This role will focus on applications of PFAS treatment and destruction technologies in drinking water applications, but may include wastewater reclamation facilities, landfill leachate, and government facilities. The PFAS Process Lead will collaborate with the PFAS Initiative Team, Client Directors, and Project Managers on new business pursuits related to PFAS treatment projects. The PFAS Process Lead will be responsible for business development activities and external marketing opportunities such as presenting at local/national conferences, building/maintaining client relationships, and identifying new business prospects. The PFAS Process Lead is expected to be well-versed in all matters of the proposed PFAS regulations and will serve as a technical advisor to internal and external clients. The PFAS Regional Lead will provide subject matter expertise on compliance with the NPDWR and analytical methods for PFAS monitoring, development of protocols for rapid small-scale column testing and pilot testing, development and analysis of breakthrough curve models, and design and implementation of adsorption processes for PFAS treatment. The PFAS Process Lead will work closely with the Emerging Regulations Campaign, Innovation Platform, and Process Department Leadership to apply innovative and rapid solutions for clients using internally-developed tools and design standards. The PFAS Process Lead is expected to lead multiple projects and pursuits at any given time. Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
  • Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
  • Professional engineering license preferred from any of the states in the USA or ability to obtain one within 2 years of employment required.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering.
  • 11 years of experience in drinking water treatment with at least 5 years in water quality and treatment or engineering management
  • Established leadership skills with deep understanding of consulting, project execution, client services, and business development.
  • Strong communication skills with capacity for building and maintaining client relationships

Responsibilities

  • Identify key client interests and drivers for ongoing projects and new business prospects and may determine the key clients in some instances
  • Develop creative solutions and approaches to accommodate our clients’ goals and objectives
  • Lead business development or pursuit activities, including involvement in pre-positioning meetings, proposal development, and client interviews.
  • Attend and present on innovative solutions related to PFAS treatment at local, regional, and national conferences
  • Prepare scope of services and fee estimates for proposals, new contracts, and amendments
  • Serve as a technical advisor with a deep understanding of PFAS regulations, rapid small-scale column testing and pilot testing, development and analysis of breakthrough curve models, and design and implementation of adsorption processes for PFAS treatment, with support and guidance from PFAS Practice Leads
  • Lead multiple projects and support multiple clients simultaneously, serving as the central point of contact for PFAS treatment questions and guidance in your region
  • Delivers projects within established budget, schedule, and quality expectations
  • Independently apply advanced engineering techniques and problem solving
  • Actively coordinate with internal and external team members for successful project execution and ensures activities are completed based on the critical path for the program
  • Review and manage the work of junior engineers and data scientists, actively mentoring and fostering their technical development and seeking opportunities to develop future PFAS treatment experts
