About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Payroll Analyst to join our Payroll team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant processing of semi-monthly payroll while supporting payroll reporting, reconciliations, remittances, and regulatory compliance activities. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while helping maintain the integrity and compliance of our payroll operations. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, work alongside a collaborative team, and further develop your professional expertise in payroll and compliance.

Requirements

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or actively enrolled in the program
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., able to run macros, pivot tables, and other formulas).
  • Compliance knowledge

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of payroll systems such as ADP considered an asset
  • AI exposure considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees.
  • Process termination payments in accordance with employment standards legislation and provincial requirements.
  • Calculate and process statutory holiday pay, payroll adjustments, and other payroll-related transactions.
  • Generate and process Records of Employment (ROEs) in compliance with federal requirements.
  • Ensure payroll tax updates and legislative changes are implemented and tested prior to processing.
  • Prepare, reconcile, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll remittances and reports, including: Source deductions, Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) reporting, Employer Health Tax (EHT), T4s, T2200s, RL-1s, and other statutory filings.
  • Complete source deduction reconciliations and payments within required timelines.
  • Support payroll reporting and analysis requests for HR, Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare accurate payroll journal entries supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements.
  • Record payroll-related entries in the general ledger and ensure all payroll accounts are reconciled at month-end.
  • Provide responsive, professional, and solution-focused support for payroll-related inquiries.
  • Collaborate effectively with Payroll, HR, Finance, and Operations teams.
  • Share knowledge, best practices, and training to support team development and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute positively to a culture of accountability, excellence, and service.
  • Support payroll process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain an Individual Development Plan (IDP) aligned with team and organizational objectives.
  • Stay informed of payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
