About The Position

AECOM is seeking a qualified Sr. Pavement Engineer/ PM to join their Ontario team. This is a new hybrid position where the individual will act as the lead pavement lead and/or project manager for pavement engineering and/or pavement management projects for a wide variety of public and private sector clients. Responsibilities include communicating with clients, contractors, utilities, agencies and other stakeholders, providing leadership through technical supervision and mentoring of junior team members, and giving relevant feedback and instructions to team members and clients. The role requires adherence to project schedules, budgets, and objectives, participation in internal and external project meetings, and planning, organizing, and carrying out pavement evaluations and investigations. The engineer will also write and review/approve reports and specifications, make presentations, prepare technical reports including specifications and pavement design reports, and complete complex pavement analysis of all pavement types. Additionally, the role involves assisting other Project Managers with field documentation and organization, performing quality control/quality assurance of field work, data analysis, interpretation, and engineering calculations, reviewing pavement engineering analysis, designs, performance data, and reports, and assisting with proposal preparation. Other office and/or offsite activities may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Pavement Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or any related technical field.
  • 6 years of experience in pavement engineering and/or demonstrated equivalency.
  • Registered professional engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Project Management specifically with MTO Projects.
  • High level of proficiency in all pavement engineering software such as DARWin, AASHTOWare Pavement ME and StreetPave 12.
  • 10 years experience in pavement engineering with MTO (in particular in High Complexity Pavement Design).
  • Experience in team leading is an asset
  • Pavement Engineering Laboratory set up experience is an asset
  • Valid class G Ontario license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control/quality assurance of field work, field data analysis and interpretation, and engineering calculations.
  • Perform review of pavement engineering analysis, designs, performance data, and reports.
  • Assist other team members with the preparation of proposals and expressions of interest considering the methodology for undertaking potential projects.
  • Other office and/or offsite activities, as required.
